What is this?
The COPILOT is a safety system that acts as an intelligent assistant for industrial vehicle operators. Unlike detection systems, Copilot is designed as a centralized onboard device with a touchscreen display that serves as the core of the PAS-S2 system. Its main objective is to establish strict control over vehicle access and actively monitor the condition of the vehicle in real time through digital checklists.
What is it used for?
The COPILOT system is used to minimize operational risks, prevent accidents caused by negligence, and reduce incidents resulting from technical failures or unauthorized access to forklifts. By requiring mandatory pre-operation inspections and monitoring driving behavior (through access and incident records), it creates safer and more controlled industrial environments. In addition, it easily integrates and communicates with other Troax safety systems installed within the facility.
How does it works?
The system operates through a step-by-step validation process:
Access Control: To start and operate the forklift, the operator must identify themselves on the COPILOT screen either by entering a personal PIN code or by scanning a valid RFID card using the side reader.
Safety Checklist: Once identified, the device automatically displays a series of programmable random questions regarding the condition of the vehicle (brakes, lights, fluid levels, etc.). The operator must answer honestly under their responsibility. If a negative response is detected in a critical parameter, COPILOT blocks the login process and prevents vehicle operation.
Alerts and Monitoring: During operation, the device emits audible alerts through its integrated speaker and visual signals through its upper LED indicator light. All events are synchronized locally and uploaded to the cloud.

What devices does it involve?
The COPILOT system is structured around a centralized unit and multiple optional PAS-S2 compatible peripherals that expand its capabilities:
COPILOT Central Unit: A 2.8-inch touchscreen display with an upper LED status light, integrated RFID reader, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity, and built-in speaker.
Impact Sensor (Optional): A device that measures G-forces during operation. When connected to COPILOT, it records the exact severity of impacts, the incident time, and associates the event directly with the logged-in operator.
CAS-G2 (Anti-Collision System – Optional): A proximity detection module. When connected, COPILOT acts as an alert interface, displaying the exact distance in meters to other forklifts or pedestrians carrying active tags. The screen and upper LED change color (Green/Yellow/Red) according to the collision risk level.
ECU-4G (Electronic Control Units): Expansion modules that provide additional wired inputs and outputs for COPILOT. The 4G version adds mobile connectivity and GPS technology to record outdoor positioning and transmit incidents in real time without relying on local Wi-Fi networks.
Safeyu Web Platform: The cloud-based software environment where administrators manage driver profiles, edit checklist questions, and access fleet analytics and reports.

Where can it be used?
COPILOT is suitable for implementation in any type of industrial traction vehicle operating in warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial environments with shared workflows. It is ideal for machinery fleets where multiple operators rotate shifts, making it essential to maintain strict traceability of both personnel and vehicle mechanical conditions. Its compact design is optimized for installation inside the operator’s cabin.
Advantages
Full Access Control: Prevents unqualified personnel, external users, or operators without valid permissions from using the vehicles.
Digitalized Maintenance (Checklist): Replaces traditional paper checklists with interactive electronic questionnaires whose critical responses can instantly disable the vehicle if it is unsafe to operate.
Cloud-Based Traceability and Management: By integrating with the Safeyu web platform, facility managers can audit who was driving, at what time, what answers were given during inspections, what impacts the vehicle experienced, and how many actual operating hours were recorded.
Hybrid Operation (Online/Offline): The device can download configurations and operate completely autonomously without internet access inside the facility. Once Wi-Fi coverage is restored, all stored data is automatically synchronized.

Things to consider
It is extremely important to remember that the COPILOT system is a driver assistance and complementary electronic control tool. The driver always remains solely responsible for the safe operation of the industrial vehicle.
To ensure proper power supply in vehicles operating outside the standard voltage range (9–36 VDC), an additional DC/DC voltage converter and professional installation supervision are required.
