Traffic light usage in industrial settings tends to meet a lot of opposition on account of their seemingly difficult and costly installation. However, as our regular conversations with our clients prove, this is not necessarily the case. On the contrary, traffic lights can be a great ally to prevent accidents at work and improve occupational safety in all types of industries.

In this article we would like to present four solutions that prove that traffic lights can help us solve different problems in our daily activities:

  1. Traffic Control System (TCS). A practical tool to helps prevent accidents at work consisting of a comprehensive traffic control system capable of differentiating pedestrians from forklifts. Given that it does not rely on batteries or mobile devices, and that it works in a totally passive way, the TCS does not require any human attention, constant maintenance, or usage monitoring.

  2. PCS Solution. This system warns forklifts through traffic lights of the presence and eventual crossing of pedestrians in their immediate vicinity. Thanks to this system, the operator who is handling a load and concentrating on driving heavy vehicles can be alerted of the proximity of a pedestrian and take precautionary measures. This significantly helps reduce accidents and the risks of running over pedestrians.

  3. BS Solution for areas with no visibility or blind spots. This device minimises the risks of collisions between forklifts and pedestrians and prevents collisions between forklifts in areas of limited visibility. By way of a system of traffic lights and tags, the BS solution indicates the right of way for drivers and pedestrians. The tags carried by pedestrians and forklifts emit light signals when an activator detects them. Subsequently, the traffic light will indicate the right of way.

  4. NAS (Narrow Aisle Safety) Solution. A tool designed to minimise the risks of collision between forklifts in reduced space areas. A traffic light warns forklift drivers when another vehicle is detected in a confined area. The forklifts incorporate coded reflective bands which – when detected by the sensors -, activate the traffic lights installed in the corridors. From that moment, and while the truck remains in the aisle, the traffic light will indicate its presence in the area to the rest of the vehicles or pedestrians that approach the place.

We are thrilled to announce a new addition to the Claitec team!

Lluc joined us as an intern from the Higher Degree in Multiplatform Application Development, and he is staying with us to support our software and R&D department.

Lluc studied the Intermediate Degree in Microcomputer Systems and Networks. He is passionate about programming and has used all kinds of consoles and computers since very young.

He spends a great part of his time playing video games and enjoys discovering and playing as many games as possible. Beyond the world of screens, his hobbies involve music and he has been playing amateur percussion for some time now, having recently joined a local percussion band.

It’s a pleasure to have you on the team, Lluc!

Claitec  is proud to introduce Safeyu, an innovative solution designed by our team to prevent occupational accidents. Safeyu connects workers, vehicles and machines to easily identify risk situations in real time and preventively warn the person/s at risk.

Safeyu is a modern, practical, and powerful product that allows logistics companies to ensure and control the safety of their workers, minimising any potential risk. Thanks to all the devices developed by Claitec, all the activity that occurs in the company is recorded and can be monitored from the Safeyu platform.

From the Safeyu website, the company registers its workers, its machinery, its devices, and its headquarters in order to later be able to keep track of all of them and draw key conclusions in terms of prevention, health and occupational safety.

The home page shows different graphs corresponding to the data coming from the devices, be it accident details, potential accidents, or indicators of change status of a device, for example. In addition, this section allows the person in charge to get an idea of the general circumstances of the company to take preventive measures for the future.

In the users’ section, you can access the list of people authorised on the platform, allowing you to individually see the data and events in which they have been involved, as well as being able to configure settings.

In the sites section you can see the company’s different locations, with their corresponding buildings and floors, a map a tracking the vehicles, the events that have occurred in a certain period of time, heat maps, and even the location of traffic control devices – just to mention a few possibilities.

We have grouped the devices into three categories:

  • Firstly, we find the drivers where the tags are registered, as well as permissions can be assigned or rejected, we can also see the checklist and login records.

  • Secondly, we find the vehicles. We can also access all detections and impact records from the devices installed in machines.

  • Lastly, would be the building infrastructure which allows the devices of the infrastructure to be seen, which are located at a fixed point and manage the traffic.

Claitec recently travelled to Germany to be part of the most important event in the world of Intralogistics and Process Management Solutions: the Logimat 2022 fair. Two years after its last edition and after this year´s closing, we take stock of Claitec´s attendance in this event.

Overall, our participation could not have been more satisfactory.  At Logimat we have had the opportunity to demonstrate once again that our solutions provide the highest level of industrial safety for our clients.

We were also able to present our main safety solutions, as well as the most innovative products from Claitec, detailing their many benefits to the hundred over visitors we received with enthusiasm at our stand. Having the opportunity to talk to professionals from all over the world was a very rewarding experience for us, as we were able to learn first hand about the different risk situations they experience in their environments, and have created the appropriate synergies in order to start finding a joint solution.

We left Stuttgart feeling extremely pleased with the experience. We were reunited with friends and met new teammates, started future business relationships, and shared unique and enriching experiences.

These were some of the products we presented at Logimat:

  • Crossing Guard, a device that is installed at high levels in warehouses to help prevent collisions at intersections.
  • PSG Gate, a safety gate designed to reduce risk situations in these environments.
  •  Virtual safety gate, a virtual gate which, upon detecting a forklift, it projects a line on the ground to indicate crossing is not permitted.
  • AV-30 Verification Antenna, the purpose of this device is to verify the status of the batteries and the functioning of the RF communication of the active tags in a workspace.
  • Wireless charging station. A charger designed to supply 12 Tags T-10R. It is particularly useful for companies with large teams.
  • The Safeyu system: a product that allows a logistics company to ensure, control and record the safety of its workers, thus minimising any risk.
  • Claitec’s Copilot: a touch screen device with multiple settings used to make a safety verification checklist before using a forklift -, it can give permissions to drivers, view the detection of forklifts and people or find out if the vehicle has had a collision, among other uses.
  • The impact sensor: a device that detects impacts and it sends them for registration in the Claitec Copilot.
  • In addition, we will also be displaying the demonstration cases of the CAS-G2, PAS and LSA.

If you have any doubts or queries before, during or after the event, please don’t hesitate to contact us, we are always happy to help!
