If there is one recurring cause of work accidents involving the use of forklifts, it is undoubtedly speeding.
Speed plays a crucial role in both pedestrian accidents and collisions, something that should not be overlooked. For this reason, Claitec has developed the LSA (Low Speed Area) solution, designed to regulate speed in high-risk areas where it could trigger accidents.
With years of operation, the LSA system has proven its effectiveness through the results and the positive response of our satisfied customers. It is a precise, easy-to-install system that does not require direct intervention by the driver, as it operates autonomously thanks to motion sensors.
The LSA solution is specially designed to adapt to different work environments, knowing that each one has its unique structure. Claitec has devised different ways to implement this solution in environments such as warehouses, factories, or loading docks, among others.
The LSA System is installed using brackets containing a reflective strip that interacts with a sensor installed on the forklift. These brackets are strategically placed in the areas where it is desired to regulate speed, either suspended from the ceiling by cables or fixed to the wall.
When the vehicle equipped with the LSA system drives through the controlled area, the sensor detects the reflective strips, reducing the speed of the forklift in the previously defined area.
This system is also applicable in loading docks or similar environments where it is necessary to control the speed of vehicles during manoeuvres. In these cases, the reflective strips are installed on the forklift itself, and the control unit and motion sensor in the corresponding place, such as on the side of the dock door. This way, as the vehicle drives through the specified area, it is detected, allowing its speed to be controlled, and preventing accidents commonly caused by rushing during loading or unloading operations..
As you can see, the LSA solution is an essential ally in preventing accidents related to speeding. In addition, it can be complemented with other systems developed by Claitec, such as traffic control (TCS) or our visualisation system (VAS).

In this blog we have talked on many occasions about the PSG (Pedestrian Alert System) door, a solution developed by Claitec to create safer pedestrian crossings and restrict access to restricted areas to authorised personnel only.
In this post, we want to delve deeper into this system as it has become one of our most requested products, demonstrating its effectiveness and reliability in access management in industrial environments.
Easy to operate and with countless advantages, its main function is to distance pedestrians from forklifts by preventing their access them when both are operating in the same area, managing the right of way and avoiding accidents. The PSG communicates with various sensors developed by Claitec, such as the MT-50 to detect forklifts or the AV-30 to restrict access.
The PSG door consists of different components that can be configured in three different models:
- The most basic option includes an adjustable telescopic door between 70 and 100 cm, together with mounting brackets..
- The second option adds an RGB beacon that indicates the status of the door by means of light signals. When it is red, the door is blocked; when it changes to green, the area can be accessed without risk.
- The latest configuration, and of course the most complete, includes a traffic light and an emergency button to unlock the door in case of need. The traffic light, available in two models (with green/red light or with an added pedestrian icon), is highly visible to pedestrians and drivers.
In addition to the safety advantages offered by the PSG itself, its effectiveness can be increased by adding articulated barriers to stop forklifts when the door is unlocked for pedestrians, preventing accidents, for example, due to possible driver carelessness.
Another outstanding function of the pedestrian safety door is to manage access to restricted areas for unauthorised personnel. Lack of control in these areas is common and represents a risk both for workers and for the company. By combining the PSG with the AV-30 verification antenna, we can control these situations effectively, blocking access to restricted areas and allowing entry only to authorised personnel by using a personal T-10R tag.
In short, the PSG is a simple solution that prevents many risks, accidents and misuse of restricted machinery. It not only protects people, but it also optimises production and the safe operation of these spaces.
