One of the most common questions we get asked by our customers is whether Claitec offers high visibility vests to assist in the safety and accident prevention in our industries.
To answer this pressing question, in this post we would like to discuss the perfect solution – a vest with a pocket specially designed to insert a T-10R Tag for the detection of people.
A high visibility safety vest with a built-in pocket for the T-10 and T-10R Tags, which is available at very affordable costs with significant discounts for wholesale purchases.
The vest comes with a unique functionality that locks the pocket where the tag is contained to ensure that the operator does not remove it or loses it, providing additional protection and avoiding the risk of any distractions. This function consists of a plug and a nail as the locking mechanism and its corresponding decoupler. These ensure that the person carries the T-10R at all times. Only an authorised person or person in charge can remove the tag from the vest.

That’s why today we would like to present our new T-10R SD (Social Distance sensor) solution based on our T-10R system. We have modified it to alert workers when the preprogramed safety distance protocols are breached.
The T-10R SD is a proximity monitoring solution designed to maintain the physical distance established between people within the same workplace (offices, warehouses, logistics centres, workshops, etc.).
The T-10RSD tag is a long-lasting active RFID device intended to ensure a safety perimeter of 2m between people (the distance recommended by health authorities).
The T-10RSD Badge is an adaptation of the T-10RSD tag, which also acts as a card holder. The operator only needs to carry a single device that includes the safety tag and the personal identification card.
All the person needs to do is to carry the tag to establish a safety perimeter of 2 to 4m. When another person (who is also carrying the tag) enters the 4m safety perimeter, the tag will turn on the orange light as a warning signal.
If the person comes closer than the 2m social distance, the tag will beep and turn on the red light as a warning signal for people to physically separate and minimise the risk of spreading the virus.
Please note that the distances are configurable.

A lot of our clients often ask us about the characteristics and differences between the T-10 Tag and the T-10R Tag as they appear to be very similar products at first glance.
So, in this post we want to highlight their differences and the many unknown advantages of the T-10R Tag.
Both the T-10 and the T-10R Tags are small long-lasting active RFID devices.
They are placed in vehicle or carried by persons to be accurately detected by the AC-50 Activator – which is part of our successful PAS (Pedestrian Alert) System.
The T-10R Tag is an evolution of the T-10 Tag and presents several improvements over its previous version. For instance: we’ve improved both its reach radio and its ease of detection.
It also incorporates a battery with a minimum autonomy of a month and it’s rechargeable wirelessly. This is extremely helpful in making daily tasks easier.
Similarly, the T-10R Tag presents high intensity LED lighting, which helps rapid detection and ensures the visibility of the person wearing the tag.
The light generated by the T-10R Tag has a 360°angle, allowing it to be perceived from anywhere it is located, providing higher levels of safety to that workspace and helping to avoid accidents at work.
In addition, the tag has a vibration system, which acts as additional warning for operators in the presence of another person or vehicle. It also generates a high intensity audible warning, thus providing a wide range of warning systems and improving safety standards in the industry.
It’s also extremely resistant, which makes it an ideal component to be used in industries and work areas where operators coexist with cargo vehicles and large machinery.
Both tags have call button functions and the ability to detect critical points.

Many of our clients ask us – before implementing our tools in their work environments – what are the differences between some of our solutions and what are their characteristics and qualities.
That’s why in this post we’d like to clarify the differences between the TZ-Tag, the TZ2-Tag Bidirectional and the TZ2-Tag unidirectional devices, describing the purpose of each of them.
We are looking at very similar devices that are intended for different purposes. What they have in common, though, is that all of them always achieve great results. In order to understand the practicality of each of these solutions, let us give you an example:
Imagine we want to increase safety levels in an area of the warehouse where there’s a door through which forklifts circulate.
So, let’s have look at our FIRST OPTION.
In this case, we’ll be using the TZ-Tag plus we would have installed the PAS kit on the trucks. The TZ-Tag does not have a relay, and it can only detect the AC-50 and activate the AC-50 activator relay, so this would slow down the forklift.
We could, however, install a TZ-Tag near the door where we want to enhance a safety perimeter, so when the forklift equipped with the AC-50 activator in the PAS kit enters through the TZ-Tag detection zone, it automatically reduces its speed and it stays that way for as long as it remains within the tag’s safety perimeter. Then, once the TZ-Tag stops detecting it, the forklift will return to its initial speed.
SECOND, let’s look at the possibility of combining the TZ2-Tag Bidirectional plus the PAS kit and a traffic light. This tag allows us to detect and activate the AC-50 Activator relay, which would help us reduce the speed of the forklift. In addition, it has a relay that activates the red light.
In this case, we can install the TZ2-Tag Bidirectional near the door where we want to create a safety perimeter so that, when the forklift equipped with the AC-50 activator of the PAS kit enters the tag detection zone, it automatically reduces its speed and it stays that way for as long as it remains within the TZ2-Tag Bidirectional’s safety perimeter. The traffic light will also be turned to red. Then, once the Bidirectional TZ2-Tag stops detecting it, the forklift will return to the initial speed and the traffic light will return to green.
And, THIRDLY, we’ll discuss the use of the TZ2-Tag Unidirectional together with a traffic light and the PAS kit installed in the forklift. This tag can detect the AC-50, but it does not activate the relay, so it wouldn’t be helpful in reducing the forklift’s speed (although it does have a relay to activate the red light).
In this case, we would proceed by installing the TZ2-Tag Unidirectional near the door where we want to create a safety perimeter. When the forklift equipped with the AC-50 activator of the PAS kit enters the detection zone of the TZ2-Tag Unidirectional, the traffic light turns red when detected. Once the tag stops being detected, the traffic light turns green.
Beyond these products, it is also important to remember that Claitec offers the TCS Traffic Control system, which provides great results in the prevention of accidents, and it’s one of our most sought-after solutions amongst our customers.

In this post, we’d like to share an experience that illustrates the above.
This is the case of the “Simple Buzzer”, a tool we’ve developed after Denso – one of our valued customers in the Czech Republic – raised a specific concern regarding their experience with one of our products. The customer commented that they felt the buzzer installed on the truck as part of the PAS System to alert drivers to the presence of pedestrians was too noisy, and it eventually became too annoying for operators.
What happens is that the PAS Solution – which warns forklift drivers whenever it detects pedestrians at adjustable distances of 1 to 6.5 meters – keeps the pedestrian alert buzzer active until the person leaves the previously configured detection area. Therefore, the noise can continue and persist een after the driver has already taken notice of the situation.
In response to this concern, we designed and developed the Simple Buzzer. It consists of a device that is connected between the AC-50 activator and the buzzer. It allows the user to regulate the duration of the warning message issued by the PAS system. Once the tool detects the pedestrian, the buzzer is activated only for the duration of the previously set time, which can vary between 0.1 and 4 seconds. Now, it no longer emits a permanent sound until the pedestrian moves away, as it used to happen before implementing this solution.
Anyway, it’s important to consider that while the pedestrian remains in the safety zone, the luminous beacon will continue to be lit, in order to continue contributing to better work safety practices, and in a way to alert the driver but without annoying him. Since we developed this device, it has already been successfully installed in more than 35 forklifts used in Denso’s facilities. Several other customers are also exploring this solution.
